Motherhood Coach: How Every Mom Could Benefit

2 min read

What is the Role of a Motherhood Coach?

Being a mom is like trying to fold a fitted sheet – there are a million pieces of advice on how to do it, but nobody really knows the one true way. It usually ends up crumpled in a ball, but hey, it’s important to keep trying, right? While bed sheets may find peace crumpled in a drawer without much thought, motherhood is an ongoing process fuelled by love, caffeine, and the occasional victory dance when the kids are put to sleep.

If we could only see the amount of information moms consume on a daily basis to understand how to provide, support and take care. It’s like sifting through a vast library with no clear roadmap. Now, picture a skilled person who can listen without judging, ask questions that makes you think, and offer a fresh perspective on your unique mothering situation.

Motherhood Coach focuses on redefining what motherhood means to you now and helps bridge the gap between the mom you are today and mom you wish to become.

How Motherhood Coaching Can Help in Parenting

Motherhood coach is a professional who specialises in providing support and expertise to moms in navigating parenting challenges. Although they can’t eliminate the messiness of parenthood or change your family dynamics, they can listen, understand, and empower you with the tools. This, in turn, builds confidence for you to feel good in your life and stay a loving mom for your kids.Typically, parenting coaches are trained in areas such as child development, behaviour management, communication strategies, and family dynamics. We offer practical advice, tools, and strategies to address specific parenting challenges.

Unlike therapists, we are future-focused; it’s not about analysing your past but moving towards the future that excites and motivates you. Our main focus is to identify your self-limiting beliefs and behaviours and to improve your motherhood satisfaction. Our main tools are the words you use, the beliefs you carry, and goals you set.
We can offer strategies for creating a harmonious and supportive family environment, and reduce stress, self-guilt, or social pressure.

Although we are here to help, it’s important to know, that motherhood coach is not a psychologist or a therapist. Think of us as a trusted friend who’s been there, done that, and is ready to share.

While both parenting coaches and psychologists play roles in supporting individuals and families, motherhood coach has different focuses, qualifications, and the nature of assistance. It’s not training or therapy. I prefer to call it a partnership between me and you, built through mutual parenting experience, to bring into awareness whatever holds you back from your goal.
