I'm Žaneta.

Psychology-Informed Consultant for Women · Mentor · Speaker

Motherhood Guide began with motherhood because that was the stage of life I was learning, writing and talking about most. But children grow, mothers change, and life keeps moving.

Today, Motherhood Guide is as interested in the woman within and beyond motherhood as it is in motherhood itself.

I've been several versions of myself already. I don't expect this one to be the last.

I’m originally from Lithuania, and life has since taken me to Malta, Greece and now Portugal, along with more than one major restart. Divorce, emigration, single motherhood, career change and eventually an empty nest have all made me reconsider who I was when familiar roles changed.

As my daughter grew up and life changed again, I realised that motherhood isn’t the only role women have to learn as we go.

We also learn how to let go, change direction, love differently, begin again – and keep becoming ourselves.

I’ve learned that life is rarely as predictable or as balanced as we’re encouraged to make it look. Happiness is often a by-product of living meaningfully rather than something we can chase directly. And doing everything alone doesn’t necessarily make us stronger, quite often it simply makes us lonelier.

Education & Professional Background Behind My Work

University of Essex. Master’s in Psychology – currently studying
Lithuanian Sports University. Bachelors in Educology and Social Pedagogy
Stanford University. Programme in Child Development: Behavior and Mental Health

Psychology has been part of my academic background since my undergraduate studies. My first degree is in Educology, together with a professional qualification in Social Pedagogy. The four-year programme included formal university study in general, social, developmental, educational, family, personality and health psychology, as well as psychological consultation, psychopathology, communication, research methods and applied statistics.

My current Master’s studies in Psychology build on that earlier foundation and allow me to explore psychological theory, research and human behaviour in considerably greater depth.

Alongside my formal education, I bring years of professional experience in mentoring, speaking and education.

My professional life has also been built in business, giving me first-hand experience of the pressures, identity shifts and expectations that can come with work and career.

Working with women beyond Motherhood Guide

Alongside Motherhood Guide, I’ve been selected to mentor women through international professional communities focused on leadership, careers and personal development.

You don't have to be falling apart to start a conversation

The women I work with are often doing well

they're functioning: working, parenting, managing relationships and getting on with life. Nothing looks dramatically wrong from the outside, only that something has shifted for them underneath it all. You don't need a crisis to justify a conversation. You simply need space to understand what has changed and what you want now.

And that's the space I wanted Motherhood Guide to grow into: somewhere women can think, speak openly and understand changes while they're still in the middle of living it.
You don't have to know exactly what you need before starting a conversation. My psychology-informed consultations are a place to understand where you are, what matters now and what comes next.
